Anchovies Fry

Anchovies Dry Fish Fry Recipe:

Anchovies Dry Fish Fry or Nethili karuvadu varuval is really a very tasty and spicy recipe, which a fish lover should definitely try. It is very easy to prepare also, with very less ingredients. I love anchovies fish and the dry fish form very much. My parents used to buy this dry fish atleast 2kg whenever they come to visit me. My kids ask me to prepare this fish fry, on every sundays.

1. Wash the dried anchovies and soak it 20 min in hot water.
2. Drain the water and remove its head. Leave it in a plate and let it dry for another 10 to 15 min.
3. Add in the coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder. Mix well and let it rest for another 10 min.
4. In a vessel, add 1 tsp oil, and when hot, add the dried anchovies and start frying in batches. Let it become golden brown in colour.
5. Now add in the curry leaves in the final batch of the anchovies. Fry along with the dried fish. Mix all the prepared anchovies together with the curry leaves.
6. Serve with hot rice or eat just as a snack. Tastes great in both the cases.

Nethili Varuval
Dry Anchovies contains salt by itself. So while adding salt check first and add.
I used chilli powder (everest brand) and its spiciness is enough for our family. Add the chilli powder according to the brand you use. UHRVYY33RAV9

Do you know how much I love anchovies and this style of preparing it? I am the biggest fan of ikan bilis (local term for anchovies).

I know how the taste would be. I have prepared the same style and its super duper fabulous, also to nibble with some drinks in hand.
