Channa masala




Ingredients
  • Chick peas - 2 cups (soak overnight)
  • Onion - 2
  • tomato - 2
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Channa masala powder- 1 tsp
  • Yogurt/curd - 1/4 cup
  • Tamarind juice - 2 tsp
  • Oil - 5 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 1 onion - for garnishing
Method
  • Boil the soaked peas with little salt for 2 whistles and let it cool.
  • Meanwhile, make nice paste with Onion, tomato and ginger garlic paste.
  • Take a Kadai or pan, pour oil and paste and allow it to boil till the oil comes out.
  • Now add the powders, salt, yogurt and tamarind juice(if you want more soar) and while it starts boiling, add the chick peas and boil for another 2 minutes and switch off the stove.
  • Add the lemon juice and garnish with the onion and coriander leaves and serve hot.
