Mutter Paneer Masala



Ingredients
  • Green peas (Mutter) - 1 cup
  • Paneer - 1 cup
  • Tomato - 2 ( grinded to paste)
  • Onion - 2 (grinded to paste)
  • Fennel seeds - a pinch
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 (crushed into small pieces)
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • water - 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) - 1 tsp 
  • Salt as required
  • Ghee - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method
  • Make tomato and onion paste separately and keep aside.
  • Fry the paneer cubes in ghee for few mts and soak in hot water for 5 mts and keep aside.
  • In a kadai, add the oil, fennel, cardomom, cinnamon stick, cloves and fry for 1 mts.
  • Add the onion paste and stir well adding the ginger garlic paste.
  • Add the tomato paste and saute well.
  • Now add the green peas, salt, coriander powder, garam masala powder, chilli powder and water and cook for another 5 mts, till the gravy becomes thick.
  • Add the kasuri methi, milk and the paneer and again cook.
  • Occasionally still the gravy and when the paneer are cooked garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with chappathi, roti etc.
